Sensory Garden & Design

This Sensory Garden and Outdoor Learning Environment at Noosaville State School was designed and constructed by the Butterfly Kids Charity in 2008.

A great community project with contributions and assistance made by Butterfly Kids reference group members, teaching staff, Little Miss Show Girl Chloe Lethborg and Lou Cooper – Remax.

All learning occurs through one or more of the senses, sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste. The garden is also an ideal environment for learning about plants and permaculture principals using aromatic and perfumed textured plants, wind chimes and textured material paths to support  sensory focussed learning. Designed to serve many functions, this garden is used for teaching, socializing and horticulture.

Please contact Butterfly Kids if you would like to have a garden designed. Our next project is to design and construct a sensory garden at Butterfly House – Lake Cooroibah.
